Commonly Asked Questions
Are you trying to compete with the other two parties?
Right now we are supporting policy positions from any party if they are reasonable and if they promote evidence-based legislation. In the future, we hope to have our own candidates on the ballots, but even then we would endorse others who support our values. After all, that would be the reasonable thing to do.
Is the current platform the final version?
Not only will we continually update our platform, but we also have several subcommittees working on longer policy statements. These new planks to the platform, including science, healthcare, economy, foreign policy, and more, will be made available once our committee finalizes them.
Will you be running candidates in 2018?
We have no immediate plans to run PORP candidates on 2018 ballots, but we wouldn't rule out that possibility. Our goal in 2018 is to help educate Americans about the important issues so that they can elect reasonable candidates who enact evidence-based legislation.
